A coworker of mine is visiting from Cambridge. She’s never been to LA, California, or the U.S. for that matter! So, I happily took her to do some of the most touristy things you could do in Los Angeles: going down a see-through slide from a high rise building.
I present to you OUE Skyspace in Downtown LA’s US Bank Tower, and actually, this is cool to do even if you already live in LA, because it gives you such a pretty view.
The slide is on their like 70th story, which is 1,000 feet above the ground. Once you exit the elevator, you’ll see that the whole floor is like an observation deck, surrounded by glass which allows you to have a 360-degree view of Los Angeles. *Swoon* The slide itself only takes you down only one floor – so don’t panic about it being too scary.
Before you get to the 70th floor, however, you’ll be taken to another floor with large screens showing panoramic views of various parts of beautiful Los Angeles. Sort of like an appetizer before the big meal, and a preview of what you’ll be able to see once you go all the way up!
It’s $20-30 a person, depending on what time you go (I used Gold Star to get a slightly discounted ticket). It’s kid friendly, it’s Instagram/Snapchat worthy, and it’s really high up so it can get very cold or very hot, depending on the weather that day.
